I'm super intrigued by AMAZON's content strategy. Even when there are major skeptics. Both NETFLIX and Amazon have shaken up the content game through their own rules. Binge watching, big spending, algorithmic discovery, rapid release schedules, no ads etc. The idea that a show has value beyond its ratings or library value is the key. Let's say a show underperforms by standard viewing methods. That same show may track well with AMAZON PRIME subscribers and relate to renewals and more purchasing. That's a new dimension for content business. Well, not so new. I guess when I used to by my cheap CDs at CRAZY EDDIE or THE WIZ, they were loss leaders for other commerce. Not exact, but you get the point... Artist puts TRUMP quotes on misogynistic old magazine ads... As a kid, I used to wake up early every Saturday to watch cartoons. I'm up early now at 45. My niece who slept over last night is still in bed sleeping like she had a hard day at the mill and when she awakes she will demand to watch THE SIMPSONS on FXNOW... I can turn off people pretty quickly. Especially the ones I have taken real time to help or be a friend to. Once they cross my definition of bad acting, I'm done... I'm a BOB IGER fan. I've also been vocal about execs in all businesses standing up for what's right. That definition of right is not always the same. I agree that he should be in the room with POTUS and his administration. Change and influence from within until the only recourse is protest and exclusion. A company like DISNEY has employees and customers from all backgrounds and beliefs. A CEO of a major company should engage. Better to have him in the room to represent their interests directly. These arguments come up all the time. Should a company do business with a country that employs censorship? Or withdraw? Again, I bet on change from within, until...
